I hesitated to use the word “medicine” in the title, because the product I am about to mention is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any disease, nor is this about disease. It is merely a worn-out cliché. The cliché is so perfect, however, I will beg the forgiveness of the reader, and of the FDA for it’s poetic use this time to tell about an experience of dramatic support of the function of my immune system.
My immune system is normally superb in it’s function. It is rare that I experience anything other than feeling perfect healthy. In the period since this last Thanksgiving, however, I have been eating a higher percentage of cooked foods, including more acid-forming foods (meats, dairy and grains) than I would like to admit to. I am not certain why, but yesterday this slip in my normal discipline flew back in my face. I found myself needing to stay very close to the bathroom. My sense of decorum prevents me from describing my situation any further.
Initially I blamed this on having tried a small bowl of bean soup that had been in the slow cooker for a few days. Others were raving about how delicious it was, so I decided to taste it. (It was very tasty, by the way.) The in-congruency with this theory was that others also ate the soup, and they seemed fine.
Then, later in the day, I began to intensely chill. I turned up the heat a bit, and began loading on sweatshirts and jackets. The idea came to mind that my immune system had had more than enough abuse, and was calling for some specific nutritional support. Fortunately, I know what the best supplements for my immune system are, and I had an ample supply on hand.
The supplement is called AloeFerrin 4™. It is a combination of four extraordinary natural foods, two of which are famous for immune system support: BiAloe®, the known best Aloe vera inner leaf gel powder, and lactoferrin, a component in colostrum and breast milk, also in bovine whey. The other two ingredients, lecithin (from non-GMO sunflower seeds) and stabilized rice bran, the single most nutritious food known for man, are included to support and enhance the effectiveness of the two immune-supporting components.
The recommendations on the AloeFerrin 4™ label say to take 1 capsule per day, up to 1 capsule per hour. I normally take 1 per day in the evening. Under the circumstances I decided to go with the one per hour as a way of apologizing to my immune system for what I had been doing to it.
I have no way of knowing what was really going on with the structure and function of my body, nor do I have any sound evidence that taking the AloeFerrin 4™ made any difference to how I felt. It could have been just a coincidence that I felt so much better within 2 hours of beginning to take 1 capsule per hour. It could have been a placebo effect, since I truly expected to feel better as a result of taking it. I am okay with that, so long as that is the direction in which the coincidence or placebo effect continues to take me. If I ever start taking that much and I get sick, or feel much worse, I will re-evaluate the process. Meanwhile, “Viva la nutritional support!”
